Mission Statement

The Queensland Hand Surgery Society promotes the pursuit of excellence in hand surgery by:

• stimulating interest in hand surgery for the benefit of the community
• promoting hand surgery research
• promoting the improvement of the science of hand surgery
• encouraging the practice of the art and science of hand surgery
• forming associations with other organisations with similar aims

The Queensland Hand Society achieves these aims by organising an annual two day scientific meeting each year and evening scientific presentations given by guest speakers; by providing grants to support scientific research; and by giving an award each year to the best scientific paper presented by a Consultant Surgeon, Surgeon in Training and Hand Therapist.
